Wish & Rain

I wish it rained. This has been far too long a dry spell.

For quite some time, it’s raining fire. Everything appears so lifeless, so barren out here. It’s, as if, the world around me is crying out for the heavens to open up; for a sudden downpour which takes you by surprise but gives a pleasure which otherwise cannot be described or measured.

This dry spell sometimes is so reminiscent of the lives we live.

Parched earth. Parched life. Parched soul.

I wish it rained.

There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;
And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum-trees in tremulous white;
Someday soon, there will come soft rains……

I really loved the message behind this post...I simply admire ur writing skills Soul. I was amazed at how deep a thinker u r. Not that I doubted it before but I hv never seen another post in Blogville that described so well the 'parched soul' of the world today!

**Parched earth. Parched life. Parched soul.

Soft rains and the Smell of the ground
.
.
I so wish for this now. But my love for rains is just limited to the first few downpours. And the smell of the drenched earth....just magical.

I can imagine the last five lines...magical indeed.

One life lesson is to learn to be grateful for where you are and see blessings in all conditions. The words you share of timless longing reflect the restlessness of man. His focus is shifting to concepts he is preparing to accept. This is refreshing beyond water on a dry day.

Touching words expressing an emptiness in ones' life.

"Parched earth. Parched life. Parched soul"......

How amazing God links all His creation, under His control. And that brings human nature into real test. Earth, life, soul...

How often do we appreciate the presence of rain when it comes day by day? How much do we miss rain when it disappears from our sight, from our feel?

Parched earth. Parched life. Parched soul.

Soft rain will come when we truly believe and appreciate. Then we can smell the ground, hear the frogs'songs, see the glowing trees, and sense ourselves.

Your wish will come true Soul.

isnt it so true we always find other side of the river green ..
we look for silver lining on dark clouds and when its raining fire we wish for the same old clouds ...

is it ever a contended life ?? is it ever ??

I agree it's about the restlessness of man. The timeless longing too. I am so glad to read such analysis. I feel honoured.

Thank you so very much, Liara.

You are right. That's what Liara pointed out too. Some emptiness we all have. Or may be it's our restlessness.

Thanks again.

You are right, Renaye. The world is at the verge of breaking into a war over water. I too pray and hope the future generation will have enough.

You are right, Pauline. Sometimes, it's need-based for us. May be we dont appreciate God's creation in the appropriate manner.

I hope the rains come soon.

You are right, man. We are after one thing or the other all our life. Never ever content with what we have. That's the irony.

Thanks for coming over, mate.
